WEAPONISE YOUR SOUND has been created by DIET CLINIC an NTS radio show, showcasing female DJs/artists and supporters of. It is a reflection of our sexuality, our environment and our minds.
Weaponise Your Sound Vol. 1 is the first release marking International Women’s Day 2018 with tracks from C.A.R (Kill The DJ/Ransom Note), Deena Abdelwahed (InFine), Fantastic Twins (Hippie Dance/Optimo Music) Lokier (Squirrels On Film), Marika Underspreche (Endless Flight/Optimo Trax), Moor Mother (Don Giovanni Records/ Vinyl Factory), Sue Zuki (Domestic Exile) and Penelope Trappes (Optimo Music).
Each of the featured artists have been guests on the show. In order to further capture and present their individual talent, I asked them to contribute a track to the compilation. They may be scattered across the globe but their love, strength and support for their art and their female counterparts continues to inspire and drive me on a daily basis.
All proceeds will go to the Focus E15, an independent housing campaign in East London committed to finding new homes & supporting women and their families evicted due to the housing crisis. www.focuse15.org
